Drnovsek Tells Coalition Partners that Finance Minister Rop Would Be Successor

Ljubljana, 11 July - Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and president of the senior ruling coalition partner, the Liberal Democracy (LDS), informed other coalition partners on Thursday that he intends to propose incumbent Finance Minister Anton Rop as his successor once he steps down as part of his bid for the presidency. Drnovsek also revealed that he would step down from his post after the presidential elections and not before them, as was first anticipated.
