Papers Look into the Supplementary Budget
Ljubljana, 12 July - The Slovene press responds Friday to the adoption of the supplementary budget in Slovenia's parliament on Thursday. While agreeing that spending had to be cut, the dailies are critical of the government's handling of public finance policies. Moreover, the papers claim that the spending cuts could have gone further and that it may later prove that the government was once again too optimistic in its forecasts. The papers thus conclude that Slovenia could be headed for a financial crisis, if the government does not respond to the warning signs.
