German Paper Looks into Stalling Denationalisation in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 16 July - Slovenia is a model among EU candidate countries, but what extraordinary political and economic change has taken place in this former Yugoslav republic after gaining independence in 1991 is also evident from how Slovenia is the country that stands the best chance of becoming a NATO member, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) writes on Tuesday. The paper notes, however, that this success also has a dark side, as the return of property and compensation for damages to those whose property was taken away between 1945 and 1963 during communist rule, has not yet been wrapped up.
