Croatia Demands Compensation for Unsupplied NEK Electricity

Ljubljana, 17 July - The Slovene power grid manager Eles confirmed on Wednesday that the Croatian electricity company HEP filed another claim for compensation of costs that HEP has suffered due to the halted supply of electricity from the Krsko N-plant (NEK). The amount of this claim is higher than before, because it includes the period from 1 June 2001 and stands at almost US$ 70m. The claim is to be refused by Eles, as have been all the previous ones sent by HEP.
