Brewers' War on Again, Lasko and Interbrew Both Want Union

Ljubljana, 17 July - The battle between Slovenia's largest brewer Pivovarna Lasko and Belgium's Interbrew for ownership of Slovenia's second-largest brewer, Pivovarna Union, is officially on again. Both Lasko and Interbrew are intending to publish takeover bids for Union, while Lasko confirmed that it bought almost 22 percent of Union on Tuesday, bringing its ownership stake to over 46 percent.
