Preparations for SKD Annual Party Conference; Peterle to Deliver Speech at Anti-Corruption Rally

The Slovenian Christian Democrats (SKD) are preparing for their annual three-day conference, which will be held in Zagorje during the last ten days of April, SKD General Secretary Edvard Stanič told reporters. Lojze Peterle, the party chairman and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will deliver a speech at the conference. They will also be celebrating the party's fifth anniversary. During negotiations held on Thursday, representatives of SKD and Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) discussed the issues (budget, elections, financing of municipalities, health and social care) which should determine a possible new coalition, Stanič said. He announced another meeting between representatives of the two coalition parties for next Monday.
