NLB Approves Guarantee for Pivovarna Lasko to Acquire Rival Brewer

Ljubljana, 18 July - The supervisory board of Nova Ljubljanska bank (NLB), Slovenia's largest bank, on Thursday issued a guarantee to brewery Pivovarna Lasko, which the brewer needs to go through with the takeover of rival brewery Pivovarna Union, Radio Slovenija reported. It is unclear to what amount the guarantee applies, however, given that it was discussed by the bank's supervisors, who assessed that the risk is acceptable, is must go into billions of tolars (several million euros), the radio report said.
