18 Draftees Cause Minor Stir After Refusing to Accept Equipment
Ljubljana, 19 July - A minor incident occured at the reception of 650 solders, who started their compulsory military service on Wednesday, in the Maribor and Ptuj Barracks in NE Slovenia. The Ministry of Defence reported Friday that twelve draftees refused to accept personal military weapons and another six refused to wear personal military equipment. While incidents of the sort have been known to happen before, they have never occured to such a great extent.
