Parity Board Decides to Send Letter to Italian Interior and Regional Affairs Ministers

Trieste, 19 July - The board overseeing the implementation of Italy's act for the protection of the Slovene minority is to address letters next week to the Italian interior and regional affairs ministers, asking them to check the decree of former interior minister Claudio Scajola which allows four Trieste municipalities to issue Italian identity cards apart from the bilingual, Italian-Slovene IDs, which have been the standard ever since WWII. This was agreed at Friday's meeting of the parity board.
