Stock Market: Brewers Still not on Summer Break
Ljubljana, 20 July - The vacation spirit at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) evaporated on Tuesday, when the turnover hit SIT 11.47bn (EUR 50.5m), a daily record on LJSE. About SIT 9bn (EUR 39.6m) fell to the shares of Slovene brewer Pivovarna Union, which again got caught in a brewers' war between Belgium's Interbrew and the largest Slovene brewery Pivovarna Lasko. The trading with Union shares contributed the most to the growth of the benchmark SBI 20 index, which settled at 2,831.61 points on Friday, up 3.63% over the week before.
