Ljubljana, 21 July - Schedule of events in the week from 22 to 28 July:
MONDAY, 22 July
BRUSSELS - Economics Ministry State Secretary for regional policy Igor Strmsnik is to attend a two-day meeting with representatives of the European Commission to discuss Slovenia's preparations for receiving funds from EU structural and cohesion funds.
LJUBLJANA - Newly-appointed Russian Ambassador to Slovenia Vyecheslav Dolgov is to hand his credentials to Slovene President Milan Kucan.
KOPER - The opening of a Croatian consulate in the Slovene port city of Koper. The ceremony is to be attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Croatian parliament Zdravko Tomac and the chairman of the Slovene parliamentary committee for foreign affairs Jelko Kacin.
TUESDAY, 23 July
LJUBLJANA/ZAGREB - A meeting between the Slovene and Croatian foreign ministers, Dimitrij Rupel and Tonino Picula, to discuss bilateral relations (place yet to be determined).
THURSDAY, 25 July
LJUBLJANA - The Slovene government is to hold its regular weekly cabinet session.
FRIDAY, 26 July
SALZBURG - Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend the opening of the Salzburg festival at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
SUNDAY, 28 July
VRSIC - A traditional rememberance ceremony in the memory Russian prisoners of WWI, who died in an 1916 avalanche while constructing a mountain pass is to take place in northwestern Slovenia. The event is to be attended by Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel.
