Interbrew Publishes Takeover Bid for Union

Ljubljana, 23 July - Belgium's Interbrew published a takeover bid for the second largest Slovene brewer in the Tuesday edition of daily Delo. The world's second largest brewer, which already owns 40.6 percent of Pivovarna Union, offered to buy out the remaining 266,510 Union shares at SIT 90,000 (EUR 397) a share. The bid is on until 20 August 2002.
