Slovenia to Close Regional Policy Chapter of EU Accession Negotiations on Monday

Brussels, 28 July - Slovenia is to close the regional policy chapter of the acquis at the latest two-day round of EU accession negotiations that are to begin in Brussels on Monday. Despite the expected closure of the chapter, two of the main regional policy issues have not been solved, namely the final territorial division of Slovenia into provinces and the amount of funds the country is to get from structural funds once it becomes a member. These issues are expected to be tackled at a later date.
