Slovenia's Population Up Slightly in Q1

Ljubljana, 30 July - In the first quarter of the year, Slovenia's population saw a slight increase compared to the last quarter of 2001. According to the National Statistical Office, Slovenia counted 1,994,793 inhabitants (975,532 men and 1,019,261 women), at the end of March, which is 767 persons more than at the end of last year. On a year-to-year comparison, the Slovene population increased by 4,053 persons.
