Complaints against Police Conduct on the Increase
Ljubljana, 6 August - The number of complaints against police conduct has increased considerably in 2001, as the Ombudsman received 114 complaints, as opposed to 86 the year before. The rising number of complaints confirms the conclusions of last year's European Commission report on Slovenia's progress towards accession, which is concerned about the numerous reports of police violence, according to the Ombudsman's annual report for 2001.
