The main event of the week after Easter was the signing of a free trade agreement between Slovenia and Hungary by respective Ministers Davorin Kračun and Bela Kadar in Ljubljana on April 6. As of July 1 this year, tariffs will be lifted on almost two-thirds of goods in trade between the two countries. Tariffs on the remainder will be removed in stages by 1997, or 2001 in the case of sensitive goods.
