Croatian Fishermen Call for Protection of Navy at Slovene-Croatian Border
Zagreb, 9 August - In response to Thursday's incidents involving Slovene fishing boats and Croatian police, fishermen from the Istrian village of Bujstine urged on Thursday the Croatian government to protect them by sending navy and police vessels to the maritime border with Slovenia, according to a Croatian daily. The fishermen also asked for a meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and said they would protect the border and their interests themselves, if things do not change to their benefit, the paper adds.
