Hop Harvest Begins in Slovenia, Some 2,400 tonnes to be Collected This Year
Žalec, 11 August - Slovene hop growers began with their harvest this weekend, expecting to collect some 2,400 tonnes of the crop - which is dried and used in beer and medicine making - until the end of the harvest in early September. Slovenia, which ranks among the biggest per capita hop producers in the world, sells 90 percent of its total produce abroad.
