Pig Breeders Claim they have been Put in Unfair Position By New Regulations
Ljubljana, 13 August - The abolition of import duties on pork meat, implemented last Friday, embittered Slovene pig farmers, who feel they have been placed in an unfair position compared to foreign competition. The Slovene meat processing industry buys between 20,000 and 30,000 tons of imported pork meat each year, said a top official of a pig farmers' interest association on Tuesday.
