Press Looks into Central Bank's Decision in Favour of KBC
Ljubljana/Maribor, 14 August - Press highlights on Wednesday the decision of the central bank to grant Belgian banking group KBC a 34-percent qualifying share in Slovenia's largest bank. Ljubljana-based Delo believes that Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) was traded in for Celjska banka, an associate member in the NLB group, as NLB has promised not to increase its stake in the Celje-based bank. Vecer of Maribor, on the other hand, observes that the NLB will now have to face fierce competition on world markets.
