Natural Disasters Cause EUR 14m Damage to Farmers in 2002, Chamber Claims
Ljubljana, 14 August - The Slovene Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry (KGZS) claims that natural disasters, including drought, hail and frost, have caused a total of around three billion tolars (14 million euros) worth of damage to this year's harvest. This year nature has not spared Slovene farmers, who are still owed money by the government for last year's damage, according to KGZS officials, as the figure of 14 million euros is only an early estimate.
