Arbitration as an Alibi, Says Kucan; Croatia Protests against Trespassing Fishermen

Ljubljana/Zagreb, 21 August - If international arbitration on the border issue between Slovenia and Croatia does take place, then it should include the whole Slovene-Croatian border and not just the border at sea. This was said by Slovene President Milan Kucan on Wednesday for Radio Slovenija in a comment on the state of Slovene-Croatian relations and some statements made by Croatian top officials. Meanwhile, Croatia sent a protest note to the Slovene Embassy in Zagreb against the "recurring and provocative incursions of Slovene fishing boats into Croatian territorial waters in the Piran Bay".
