Possible Lek Takeover Raises Temperature on Ljubljana Stock Exchange
Ljubljana, 24 August - The news that Slovenia's leading pharmaceutical company Lek has received an offer to start negotiations on its takeover took investors on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) by surprise and caused a frenzy which pushed the benchmark SBI 20 index up a record 3.2% on Friday to hit almost 3,000 points at the end of trading. The benchmark index thus gained 154.36 points (5.43%) to stand at an all time high of 2,996.98 points during the week.
