Slovenia Expected to Get National Programme on Drug Use Soon
Ljubljana, 24 August - The Slovene national programme on drug use for the period from 2002 through 2008 is in the last stages of drafting and the Government Office for Drugs hopes that it will reach the competent government commission by September. Assessments suggest that there are some 5,000 to 6,000 intravenous drug users in Slovenia, while the total number of drug users in Slovenia is estimated to stand somewhere in the tens of thousands. Experts believe Slovenia ranks somewhere in the middle as regards drug use trends in Europe.
