Eight Die in Slovene Mountains This Year
Ljubljana, 25 August - Despite unfavourable weather conditions, which affected the number of mountaineering enthusiasts in the Slovene mountains this year, the mountain rescue service (GRS) nevertheless helped 119 injured hikers in the first seven months of 2002. Eight people died in the Slovene mountains this year already, while 36 were badly injured, show the data of the mountain rescue service.
