Lasko More Successful than Interbrew in the Latest Takeover Bid
Ljubljana/Laško, 27 August - After their latest takeover bids came to a close on 22 August, the two rivals for Slovenia's second largest brewer Pivovarna Union, namely the country's top brewer Pivovarna Lasko and Belgium's Interbrew, have acquired 1.68 percent and 0.2 percent of new shares respectively, the two companies revealed on Tuesday. This leaves Lasko with a 47.86-percent stake in Union, while Interbrew now owns 41.2 percent of Union's shares.
