Trade Union Worried About Foreign Takeovers
Ljubljana, 27 August - The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS) on Tuesday expressed concern in the wake of recent "ownership changes" in some Slovenian blue chips, such as the pharmaceutical company Lek, brewer Pivovarna Union and Nova Ljubljanska banka. The ZSSS is especially worried about the fact that the takeovers are primarily focused on the interests of capital, rather than the socio-economic consequences they will have.
