Drnovsek Challenged by Brezigar rather than Arhar in Presidential Run-Off, Poll Says
Maribor, 29 August - Barbara Brezigar, an independent candidate favoured by two conservative opposition parties, would compete against Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek in the second round of November presidential elections, suggests the latest opinion poll by the daily Vecer, published on Thursday. Brezigar took over from France Arhar, another independent candidate favoured by a conservative coalition party, who has lost as much as two-thirds of support following a scandal involving a health insurer whose chair is Arhar.
