Lek Shares Bring Stock Market into Wild Swinging

Ljubljana, 31 August - Spirited trading, soaring turnover and new records for the benchmark index is what the week on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) was like. Novartis's intention to purchase drug maker Lek gave a strong push to most blue chips, but when the price was revealed, it brought them to a relatively soft landing. Although finishing the week on the down, the benchmark SBI 20 index nevertheless added over five percent on the week (157.01 pts) to close at 3,256.67 points.
