Croatian Trawlers Threaten Slovene Boats in Disputed Piran Bay
Koper, 2 September - In what is a new dimension to the border incidents between Slovenia and Croatia in the disputed Piran Bay, a number of Croatian trawlers circled Slovene fishing boats on Monday, preventing them from fishing and threatening them. The incident took place three days after a leading representative of Croatian fishermen in Istria said the border in the Piran Bay being resolved "either through international arbitration or by war", a statement which he since retracted.
