Croatian Trawlers Threaten Slovenian Boats in Disputed Piran Bay

Koper, 2 September - In what is a new dimension to the border incidents between Slovenia and Croatia in the disputed Piran Bay, a number of Croatian trawlers circled Slovenian fishing boats on Monday, preventing them from fishing and threatening them. The incident took place three days after a leading representative of Croatian fishermen in Istria said the border in the Piran Bay should be resolved "either with international arbitration or in war", a statement which he since retracted.
