STA Coverage on Thursday, 5 September

Ljubljana, 4 September - The STA English service will cover the following events on Thursday, 5 September:

BRUSSELS - A Slovenian delegation headed by deputy European affairs minister Andrej Engelman is to meet with European Commission officials to present the latest information which will help the European Commission draft the 2002 annual report on Slovenia's progress towards EU membership.

LJUBLJANA - The general managers of the Restitution Fund (SOD) and the Pension Fund Management (KAD), Igor Kusar and Joze Lenic, are to present their views on the takeover of Slovenian drug-maker Lek, after Swiss pharmaceutical Novartis last week expressed its intent to takeover Lek.

LJUBLJANA - Slovenian farmers are to hold a rally to push for better conditions in agriculture and rural development. Up to 15,000 farmers from across the country are expected to take part.

LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its first regular session after the summer recess.
