State-Run Funds Expect Tough Talks with Novartis about Lek Takeover
Ljubljana, 5 September - The largest individual owners of the Ljubljana-based drug maker Lek, the Restitution Fund (SOD) and the Pension Fund Management (KAD), are still studying the announced takeover of Lek by the Swiss pharmaceutical multinational Novartis. As heads of the two state-run funds told a news conference on Thursday, the funds will try to negotiate the best possible price, while they will also study whether Lek management has legal possibility to protect its trademark, independent development and jobs.
