Vecer: "Ecology, the Political Drag"
Maribor, 6 September - Examining the end of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the daily Vecer observes on Friday that the commitments made at the summit are not too promising for the future of the global environment. It attributes this shortfall to the U.S. refusal to back concrete commitments and claims that not much change can be expected until a new U.S. president takes power. The paper also wonders why Slovenia was not represented by an official ranking higher than the environment minister.
