Slovenian President Heads for New York to Mark Sept. 11, Attend UN Assembly
Ljubljana, 9 September - Slovenian President Milan Kucan is to head to New York on Tuesday, where he will take part in the opening of the 57th United Nations General Assembly. Kucan is also to attend the ceremony on the first anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. Also due to attend the commemoration is Slovenian marathon swimmer Martin Strel, who is expected to complete his record-breaking swim of the Mississippi River later on Monday.
