Gov't Wishes to See German Cabinet Model, Opposition Seeks Middle Ground
Ljubljana, 9 September - The necessity of changing the Constitution to facilitate a more suitable model of government formation was examined in a public debate held in the Slovenian parliament on Monday. The second public forum on constitutional changes held today concluded that opinions are divided on whether the Constitution needs to be altered to change the way the government is formed and the work of the public administration is carried out. The participants of the debate had two different proposals on the table, one drafted by the government and another by the main opposition party, both envisaging amendments of the Constitution.
