Brussels Calculations Are No Surprise to Slovenia, Europe Minister Says
Ljubljana, 11 September - Financial calculations of the European Commission on the EU enlargement which suggest that Slovenia would be among the net payers to the common EU budget immediately upon accession to the Union, come as no suprise to Slovenia, as the Brussels calculations are very similar to those made by the Slovenian Finance Ministry and the negotiating team with the EU. This was said Wednesday by Slovenian Minister of European Affairs Janez Potocnik in what is his first comment on the latest calculations revealed by the Commission on Tuesday.
