Freising Manuscripts - Basic Document of Slovene Language
Ljubljana, 14 April - CULTURE/FREISING/MANUSCRIPTS/SAZU
An international Symposium on the Freising Manuscripts, the most important international humanities and science meeting of the year to be held in Slovenia, began in Ljubljana on Thursday. It opened with a ceremony at which France Bernik, president of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU), and Janko Kos welcomed 59 contributing scholars from Europe, the USA and Slovenia on behalf of the organisers of the symposium. The participants will discuss the state of scholarship on the Freising Manuscripts, religious texts produced in the Middle Ages and written in the Old Slavonic language, and consider their significance and role in the light of new findings.
