Trading on Stock Exchange Marked by Speculations about Lek Takeover
Ljubljana, 14 September - The trading on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange last week took place under speculations about the announced takeover of the Slovenian pharmaceutical Lek by the Swiss multinational Novartis. Investors felt a bit uneasy because Bank Austria sold a lot of Lek shares, most of them in foreign ownership, below the announced takeover price of SIT 95,000 (EUR 416), as low as at SIT 87,800 (EUR 385). The benchmark SBI 20 index closed the week at 3,312.08 points, down 10.6 points (0.32 percent) over the previous week.
