Slovenian FM Discusses the Preservation of National Identity in the EU
Brussels, 23 September - It depends on Slovenians themselves whether Slovenian values will gain recognition in the EU, while it must be admitted that certain Slovenian features or peculiarities do not deserve great concern and that it is not necessary to preserve them at any cost. "EU membership will perhaps help us drop some of our negative traits and adopt positive ones." This is what Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel wrote in an article for the latest issue of Brussels's weekly European Voice.
