South-East European Mayors Discuss Promotion of Security and Peace
Ljubljana, 23 September - The 6th conference of mayors of SE European capitals taking place in Ljubljana on Monday is focusing on the role of capitals in ensuring security and peace. Participants were welcomed by Slovenian Foreign Minister and former Ljubljana mayor Dimitrij Rupel. During the morning session, fifteen mayors and other officials signed a statute of the Union of Central and SE European Capitals, said incumbent Ljubljana mayor Vika Potocnik. The afternoon session - dedicated to the central topic of the conference - is to conclude with a document on the role of capital cities in ensuring security of their inhabitants, as well as peace in the world.
