LJUBLJANA - Slovenian pharmaceutical company Lek is to hold a shareholders' assembly at 7:30 AM in an attempt to amend the company's statute so that Swiss buyer Novartis could carry out its takeover intent. Lek's two largest single shareholders SOD and KAD are to present their standpoints after days of negotiations with Novartis at a press conference at 1 PM.
WARSAW/STYRKOW - Slovenian President Milan Kucan is to begin a two-day working visit to Poland at the invitation of Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski. The two presidents are also scheduled to lay a foundation stone for a new pharmaceutical plant Lek Polska in Styrkow at 3 PM. The ceremony is also to be attended by the chairman of the Slovenian drug maker Lek Metod Dragonja.
LJUBLJANA - Greek Minister for Public Law and Order Michalis Chrysochoidis and Slovenian Interior Minister Rado Bohinc are to sing a police co-operation agreement at 12:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel and the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Kosovo and the head of UNMIK, Michael Steiner, are to give a press conference at 3:50 PM, as Steiner is to pay a two-day official visit to Slovenia.
