EU Presents Standpoints on Agriculture Negotiations with Slovenia
Brussels, 27 September - During a technical meeting held in Brussels on Friday, the European Commission presented to Slovenia the draft of an updated common standpoint of the EU for the accession negotiations on agriculture, which the Commission is to submit for ratification to the fifteen EU member states in the first half of October. Although there are no fundamental differences in comparison with previous proposals, the Commission did indicate the possibility of some further corrections concerning the quotas for sugar and nursing cows, said Agriculture Ministry State Secretary Iztok Jarc, head of the Slovenian delegation.
