Foreign Debt Exceeds Currency Reserves by US$ 1.54bn in July
Ljubljana, 28 September - Slovenia's foreign exchange reserves totaled US$ 6.26bn at the end of July. Foreign reserves thus fell by US$ 144m from the month before, while, in comparison to the end of 2001, they increased by US$ 518m. Slovenia's foreign currency reserves were lower than the overall foreign debt by US$ 1.54bn, which amounted to US$ 7.8bn, according to the latest issue of the Bulletin of the Bank of Slovenia. Foreign debt increased by US$ 17m from June and by US$ 1.08bn from the end of 2001.
