Changes to VAT Act Make Slovenia's Tax System Compatible with EU Standards
Ljubljana, 1 October - Changes to the act on the value added tax (VAT), which are to come into force on Tuesday, are to bring Slovenia's tax system fully into line with European standards. Lower tax rates will be among other fields extended to the transport of persons, while in several cases, the lower, 8.5-percent rate will be raised to the general, 20-percent rate.
