Ousting of Celje Hospital Director Ends Weeks of Tension
Ljubljana, 2 October - The council of the Celje hospital on Wednesday ended weeks of nervous tension and disputes by dismissing director Samo Fakin. According to head of the council Danica Homan, he was discharged of duties because of irregularities in prescribing the dialysis drug erythropoietin and the way he managed the hospital. Fakin claims that charges against him have been "fabricated", and said that he would appeal the decision in court. Stefka Preskar, Fakin's assistant for human resources management, was appointed acting director.
