Slovenian Daily on Usefulness of Foreign Investments Debates
Ljubljana, 5 October - A heated debate on advantages of foreign investments and national interests in economy has taken place in Slovenia's financial daily Finance over the past few days. The debate was sparked off by the university rector Joze Mencinger's article published in a business magazine in which he argued that foreign investments have a negative effect on economic growth of EU candidate countries. Other economists reacted to Mencinger's claims thus voicing their opinions that he came to his conclusions through a simplified methodology, Ljubljana-based daily Dnevnik writes on Saturday.
