Investors on LJSE Waiting for Outcome of Lek Takeover
Ljubljana, 5 October - After Swiss company Novartis published its bid on the Slovenian pharmaceuticals maker Lek, stock on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) jumped and evened out the drop of the week before. On Monday, the Slovenian benchmark SBI 20 index gained 4.76 percent, but then gradually dropped till the end of the week, finishing at 3,216.45 points, or 1.74 percent up from the Friday before. The drop of the index, which has risen over 50 percent since the beginning of the year, reflects the uncertainty of investors waiting for the Lek story to unravel.
