STA Coverage on Monday, 7 October

Ljubljana, 6 October - The STA English service will cover the following events on Monday, 7 October:

VALLETTA - Slovenian President Milan Kucan is to kick off a two-day official visit to Malta. Kucan is to be accompanied by spouse Stefka for what is to be his first official visit to the tiny island nation. The Slovenian president is expected to meet with Maltese counterpart Guido de Marco.

BUDAPEST - The chief negotiators with the EU from the leading applicant countries - among them Slovenia - are to hold a regular half-yearly meeting. Slovenia's chief EU negotiator Janez Potocnik is to be in attendance of what is expected to be the last meeting of the "Luxembourg group" negotiators before the scheduled end of EU accession negotiations.

LJUBLJANA - The Speaker of the New South Wales state parliament John Henry Murray is to arrive for a visit. The official from the most populous Australian state is due to be received by Slovenian President Milan Kucan and Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor. Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to host a working lunch for Murray.

LJUBLJANA - An international conference on increasing competitiveness of businesses is to be launched by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and Economics Minister Tea Petrin. The two-day event is entitled "20 Keys".
