Eleven-Year-Old Tolar to Stay on for Five More Years
Ljubljana, 8 October - The Slovenian tolar is celebrating its eleventh birthday on Tuesday. The confindence of the people in the Slovenian currency has risen considerably since 8 October 1991, when Slovenia gained monetary independence. However, considering Slovenia's main foreign priority to join the EU and EMU as soon as possible, the tolar does not have many more years in it. In about five years, it is expected to be replaced by the euro.
